All students must have a completed sports permission slip, a current sports physical, and pay the athletic fee to participate in the athletic program. If you are unsure if you have a current sports physical on file, please contact the Nurse at Heritage Middle School. Sports physicals are good for one year.

Art Club
Club Description: This club works with the district play director to make props. We have open time to draw in sketchbooks or work on personal projects and units not touched on during the regular class time.

Battle of the Books
Club Description: Battle of the Books is a fun and engaging reading competition where students:
- Read from a curated list of high-quality books
- Work with teammates to prepare for Battle
- Compete in a quiz-bowl style event, answering trivia questions about characters, plot, settings, and key details

Choir Club
Club Description: After-school choir is a singing ensemble open to all grades and experience levels. With over 40 members, we perform a variety of music genres at concerts throughout the year. Club Description: We deal with all things in the Pokemon world. We have students who play videogames ranging from cell phones to different video game systems. We have students who battle with the cards and we watch the anime.

Club Description: The Chicago Robotics League (CRL) offers VEX V5 competitions, currently focused on the "Pushback" game (2025-2026 season), where teams build robots to score plastic blocks in goals on a 12x12 ft field, earning points for blocks, zone control, and parking

Yearbook
Club Description: Yearbook is a club that allows students to help share memories of their time at HMS while also encouraging them to learn about photography and editing. We also build our yearbook from scratch every year, so students learn design, grid structuring, and general layout skills. Students have full control and final say over every aspect of the yearbook from backgrounds chosen to fonts to page order/selection. With such a huge responsibility, we encourage students from all grades to participate year round.
